On the craft of seeing,
and waiting.
I am Vicin Ruiz, a portrait photographer in Granada. I work with people, magazines, and brands. Every commission starts with the why, and my craft is sensing what each person conveys and making it visible.

FIG. 02 — The studio, Granada, 2026
I started Vicin Ruiz because I believe an image is worth its why. I am not trying to fill a calendar, I am trying to capture what each person conveys and let the photograph hold it. Every commission passes through my hands from start to finish.
A portrait does not start when I press the shutter. It starts in the conversation, in the clothes, in the light that already exists in the person's home. My job is to see what others overlook and make it visible.
I work in editorial portraits, personal sessions, and author projects. They share the same vocabulary: natural light, little posing, time. I treat editing with the same care as the shot, because that is where a portrait finishes becoming honest.
Portraiture runs on relationships. Most of my work each year is people coming back: families, artists, editors who hired me when they had less to spend and more to prove. New work arrives by referral, from people I have already photographed.
Granada is a quiet city. The light here is different, more golden, slower. I think that has helped my work more than any camera ever has.
